Emergency Medicine Residency Program-Associate Program Director

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Associate Program Director for the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. The Associate Program Director will oversee the Emergency Medicine residency program, providing mentorship, curriculum development, and resident assessment while ensuring alignment with ACGME accreditation standards. This role also involves supporting the Program Director in advancing the academic mission of USF and fostering an environment of excellence in clinical care, research, and teaching.

  • CLINICAL -Clinical responsibilities will include patient care in the emergency department at Tampa General Hospital and or satellite locations
  • TEACHING -Support the Program Director in managing and advancing the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. • Lead strategic initiatives related to resident education, recruitment, and career development. • Collaborate on the creation, execution, and assessment of didactic sessions, simulation training, and ongoing educational efforts. • Offer consistent feedback and mentorship to residents, supporting both their clinical and professional growth. • Guide program evaluation efforts and ensure ongoing compliance with ACGME standards, including preparation for accreditation reviews. • Play an active leadership role in residency program committees, including the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), Program Evaluation Committee (PEC), and Recruitment Committee. • Serve as a clinical educator, supervising residents and medical students within the emergency department. • Support the development and advancement of core faculty through mentorship and faculty development activities. • Participate in the recruitment process, including candidate selection, interview logistics, and application evaluations. • Represent the residency program in institutional, regional, and national forums to elevate its profile and impact. • Maintain clinical practice and board certification in alignment with faculty expectations within the College of Medicine. • Engage in scholarly activities consistent with ACGME expectations for core faculty. 
  • Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. 
  • Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
  • Responsible for academic advising and related activities. 
  • May represent the university, college/school, or department.
