Position Summary:

The Eligibility Clerk supports the organization’s mission by accurately and efficiently maintaining member and enrollment information for benefit plans, including dental, vision, FSA and COBRA and ancillary products. This role is responsible for processing enrollments, changes, renewals, and terminations, ensuring data integrity across systems, and maintaining proper documentation. The Eligibility Clerk works collaboratively with internal departments and external contacts to resolve eligibility inquiries, support billing accuracy, and ensure timely professional service while meeting productivity and quality standards.


Responsibilities:

  • Enters and maintains member and enrollment information, including new enrollments, changes to existing enrollments, student eligibility verifications, COBRA enrollments, reactivations, and terminations. Images all documents for proper document retention.
  • Maintains internal and external contact in a professional and tactful way regarding eligibility status for the purpose of sharing and obtaining information. Tasks may include retrieving files and other information, working closely with Finance, Sales & Marketing departments, Group Administration and external constituents including HR Professionals.
  • Assists with the processing of electronic member eligibility files from groups, including loading and confirming reports with internal and external constituents.Works electronic eligibility file changes, such as moving members between groups, resolving discrepancies and updating members manually as necessary.
  • Assists with the processing of monthly pre-bill reports to ensure accurate group bills.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position to ensure team collaboration and client support.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and professional verbal communication skills required.
  • Strong computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required
  • Multi-tasking and in-depth problem-solving skills required
  • Typing 60 wpm without error required.
  • Error rate of 3% or less.


Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Related office experience required.
