Test Technician

Location: Rockland County, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: $21.63 – $24.04 per hour


Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated Test Technician to join our Manufacturing Engineering team. This role supports the production of oscilloscopes, probes, and electronic test equipment and works closely with cross-functional teams to achieve company, team, and individual objectives. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on electronics testing expertise and a structured, detail-oriented approach to troubleshooting and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with Engineers, Technicians, and cross-functional partners to identify, analyze, and qualify electronic components for use in existing and new products
  • Perform component validations and support continuous process improvements to reduce setup time and increase manufacturing throughput
  • Test, troubleshoot, debug, and repair oscilloscopes and probes to the component level
  • Utilize schematics and engineering documentation to support advanced troubleshooting efforts
  • Operate and maintain test and measurement equipment including oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and custom-designed fixtures
  • Provide technical feedback and recommendations to improve testing procedures and product quality
  • Assist in the evaluation and optimization of testing procedures, test equipment, and work instructions
  • Participate in cell and team meetings and support key metrics related to product testing and quality

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and debugging
  • Ability to perform component-level diagnostics and repair
  • Solid understanding of electronics, circuits, and schematics
  • Hands-on experience using test and measurement equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, meters, and pulse generators
  • Capability to perform root cause analysis and support corrective actions

Required Education & Experience

  • Associate’s Degree (AS) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, or a closely related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, test, or engineering support environment
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, prints, and engineering drawings

Computer & Documentation Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience using or supporting CAD and engineering documentation systems
  • Ability to accurately document test results, issues, and process improvements

Professional & Communication Skills

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a structured approach to troubleshooting
  • Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional engineering teams

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience with calibration of electronic test equipment
  • Background in debugging complex electronic systems
  • Familiarity with process improvement initiatives in a manufacturing or test environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.63 - $24.04/hr.
