Electronic Test Technician I

Arnold Magnetics Corporation
Ventura County, CA

Wanted: Test Technicians! Do you enjoy technology and tinkering? Did you take electronics fundamentals classes or have experience with things like resistors, capacitors, soldering irons, and meters? Arnold Magnetics Corporation (AMC) has the opportunity you’ve been looking for! AMC designs and builds ruggedized power supplies for the defense, aerospace, and energy sectors. That’s right: we power the equipment that keeps us all safe, gets you to grandma’s house, and lights up the room at night. Now we need YOUR help!

*** Note: you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident ***

Attributes: fast learner, positive attitude, high attention to detail, VERY HANDS ON, hard worker, highly flexible, willing to try new things, excellent English skills both verbal and written (if you also speak Spanish, that’s great!)

Strongly desired skills/experience:

  • Very “hands-on” mentality and desire:
  • Some prior experience testing electronics using oscilloscopes and/or multimeters and/or lab/bench power supplies, etc.
  • Moderate or above assembly skills with common tools like wrenches, sockets, hex keys, screwdrivers, etc.
  • Some basic electrical / electronic fundamentals knowledge (Ohm’s Law, component types, etc.); ability to read a schematic would be fantastic!
  • Basic computer skills (comfortable using email, capturing data in a spreadsheet/similar, taking photos with one device and transferring the files to another device, etc.)
  • 0 to 3 years of prior electronics technician experience

Location: on site at our headquarters in Camarillo, CA (841 Avenida Acaso)

What you’ll be doing:

This opportunity is pretty special. Not much is made in the USA anymore, yet AMC designs and builds all of its power supplies right here in Camarillo. Your role is to help make sure what leaves this building is fantastic. You’ll start with testing the most basic units in their final production state where the risks are low and the chances of success are high. As you gain experience and show us your tech savvy, you’ll graduate to working deeper and deeper into the devices until you’re testing and troubleshooting at the PCB level. You’ll work closely with other technicians on the team as well as members of the Engineering, Production, and Quality teams. You’ll need to be able to move around in tight spaces, gather information, walk up/down a flight of stairs several times daily, and occasionally lift/carry 25lbs all without interrupting the flow of production. This is going to be great!

So, what are you waiting for? Send us an email or give us a call. We’re waiting for you and excited to have you join the team!
