MajorDuties

  • As an ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, (WG-2610-13) is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, calibrate, and rebuild multi-system avionics complexes consisting of multiple completely integrated electronic avionics systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions. The worker in this career field must demonstrate the ability to perform on- or off-equipment maintenance on one or more complete electronic integrated systems associated with the assigned aircraft and/or maintenance on automatic flight control systems, instrument systems, inertial and radar navigation systems.

Education

Education requirements: High School Diploma is mandatory. Completion of high school courses in physics, algebra, trigonometry, and computer principles is desirable. AND Completion of an Air Force Seven Skill Level Technical Training School and awarded a compatible Seven Skill Level AFSC, along with the successful completion of at least one military professional education course program. Official document that validates 7- level AFSC requirement. 2A0X1, 2A2X1, 2A3X4, 2A3X5, 2A9X4 You must provide Official Transcripts as documentation to support your educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.

To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the capability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise handle items weighing up to 70 pounds. To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must have the physical capability to stand, climb, walk, bend, crouch, reach, and stoop over extended periods of time. To initially qualify and as a condition of continued dual status technician employment, must possess a valid state driver's license to operate government motor vehicles, for the state in which he or she lives or is principally employed, in accordance with Air Force and Air National Guard Vehicle Operations Directives. As a condition of continued dual status technician employment, the employee must complete the hazmat certification within six months of employment and complete hazmat recertification every two years.
