The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility electrical systems and industrial infrastructure to support safe and efficient operations. This role focuses heavily on electrical maintenance and repair but also supports general facility upkeep, equipment reliability, and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have industrial electrical experience, be comfortable working at heights, and be capable of operating scissor lifts to access overhead systems and equipment.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on facility electrical systems, lighting, and power distribution equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and facility-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Install, maintain, and repair wiring, panels, motors, and control systems.
- Inspect and maintain facility systems to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.
- Operate scissor lifts and elevated platforms to perform maintenance on overhead electrical systems and equipment.
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine root cause for corrective action.
- Perform electrical upgrades, modifications, and installations as needed.
- Support general building maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, and facility infrastructure repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and all facility safety protocols.
- Communicate equipment issues, repair needs, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance workspace.
- Assist with emergency maintenance and urgent facility repairs as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, trade school, or related education preferred.
- Journeyman Electrician License preferred but not required.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical maintenance, industrial maintenance, or facilities maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, motors, panels, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments preferred.
- Comfortable working at heights and operating scissor lifts.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to workplace safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
