Job Title: Traveling Licensed Electrician – Industrial Paint Booth Projects

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as a licensed electrician on industrial and manufacturing projects focused on building and repairing paint booths. You will travel to project sites across the country for extended periods, install and repair electrical systems according to blueprints and schematics, and support all electrical aspects required to complete each project safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems for paint booths in manufacturing and industrial facilities.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and electrical schematics to ensure accurate and compliant electrical installations.
  • Perform conduit bending, cable pulling, and wiring for low-voltage and standard electrical systems.
  • Install, connect, and troubleshoot lighting, switchgear, and other electrical components related to paint booth systems.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively to cut, install, and secure electrical materials and components.
  • Operate appropriate equipment and tools required for industrial electrical construction and installation work.
  • Assist with welding and fabricating tasks as needed to support the installation and repair of paint booths and related structures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues, identify root causes, and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with millwrights and construction team members to coordinate electrical work with mechanical installation activities.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and adhere to applicable electrical codes and standards.
  • Complete additional tasks related to the successful completion of each project as requested by project leadership.
  • Travel to project locations across the country and remain on-site for 3–6 months at a time, as required by project schedules.

Essential Skills

  • Active licensed electrician status with experience in industrial or construction environments.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with conduit bending, cable pulling, and electrical wiring, including low-voltage systems.
  • Demonstrated experience installing and troubleshooting lighting, switchgear, and related electrical components.
  • Ability to perform electrical installation and repair work in manufacturing and industrial facilities.
  • Skilled in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical construction equipment.
  • Capability to travel and work on the road for extended periods of 3–6 months at a time, with travel being mandatory.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair electrical issues in an industrial setting.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including most weeks at approximately 60 hours from Monday through Saturday.
  • Journeyman-level experience or status as an electrician.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Must have electrical License
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification
  • Millwright or construction experience supporting installation and repair of industrial equipment.
  • Experience with paint booth building, installation, and repair in industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Experience in industrial electrical construction, including low-voltage work and equipment connections.
  • Equipment operating certifications, which are highly valued for this role.
  • Ability to operate construction and industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with site crews and project teams.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to all site and regulatory requirements.

Work Environment

You will work primarily in Construction, manufacturing and industrial facilities, focusing on the electrical construction installation and repair of paint booths and related systems. The role involves frequent travel to project sites across the country and requires staying on location for extended periods of 3–6 months at a time. Typical schedules run Monday through Saturday, with most weeks totaling around 60 hours, reflecting an intensive project-based environment. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and construction equipment, and may work alongside millwrights and fabrication teams. The setting is industrial, with active production or construction activity, where adherence to safety protocols and proper use of personal protective equipment is essential

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savannah, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
