Job Description:

This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting industrial electrical systems in a climate-controlled production environment. The Industrial Electrician installs and services wiring, conduit, control panels, and breaker boxes, while ensuring safe and reliable operation of equipment operating up to 480V. The position requires strong blueprint reading skills, hands-on conduit work, and proficiency in PLC and ladder logic troubleshooting, with a consistent emphasis on safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain electrical wiring, controls, and related components for new builds and existing systems.
  • Cut, bend, and install conduit with minimal waste, ensuring clean and efficient routing of electrical runs.
  • Pull and terminate wire according to blueprints, schematics, and electrical codes.
  • Set up, wire, and troubleshoot breaker boxes and associated distribution equipment.
  • Inspect electrical components such as transformers, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and circuit breakers to ensure proper operation and safety.
  • Identify and diagnose electrical problems using a variety of testing devices and tools.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to plan and execute installations.
  • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) and all applicable safety procedures when working on electrical systems.
  • Work with electrical systems operating from 110V to 480V in an industrial production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule and support ongoing production needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are used safely and properly.

Essential Skills

  • Proven experience as an electrician in new build or industrial environments.
  • Journeyman-level electrical experience or equivalent practical expertise.
  • Ability to safely work with electrical systems up to 480V.
  • Strong blueprint reading skills for initial wire and conduit installation.
  • Hands-on experience with conduit bending and installation with minimal waste.
  • Proficiency in pulling, routing, and terminating wire according to schematics.
  • Demonstrated skill in troubleshooting PLCs and ladder logic.
  • Ability to use electrical testing devices to diagnose issues in transformers, VFDs, and circuit breakers.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Capability to work effectively in an indoor production and manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

The position is based in an indoor production and manufacturing environment that is air conditioned and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and consistent workplace throughout the year, including during hot AZ summers. Work involves hands-on installation and maintenance of electrical systems, including conduit, wiring, breaker boxes, transformers, VFDs, and PLC-controlled equipment. You will work with voltages ranging from 110V to 480V and use standard electrical tools and testing devices while following all safety and lockout/tagout procedures. The environment is structured, with scheduled projects and established processes, supporting focused, detail-oriented electrical work in a professional shop setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
