Electrician

Position: Journeyman Electrician

Location: New Jersey (various job sites)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Electrician to support electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance work across residential, commercial, and industrial projects in New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone who has completed or is close to completing the state‑required hours for journeyman status and can work independently under a Licensed Electrical Contractor.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
• Assist in the installation of panels, breakers, lighting systems, conduits, and other components.
• Troubleshoot electrical problems and perform necessary repairs.
• Ensure compliance with the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code (UCC) and job‑site safety requirements.
• Work efficiently on residential and/or commercial job sites.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, contractors, and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years of electrical experience (or equivalent training).
• Completion of an apprenticeship program or documented field experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems and the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to work under the supervision of a Licensed Electrical Contractor (NJ requirement).
• Ability to read electrical plans and technical documents.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various indoor/outdoor environments.

Work Environment

Work involves traveling to various commercial project sites across New Jersey. The role requires hands-on engagement with electrical systems and installations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and project specifications.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Paramus, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $36.00/hr.
