Job Summary

The Electrician – Level II is responsible for performing electrical maintenance and machine support activities to ensure manufacturing equipment remains safe, reliable, and fully operational. This role involves troubleshooting electrical systems, supporting automation and control systems, and executing maintenance tasks with limited supervision while adhering to safety and quality standards. The position may also support continuous improvement initiatives and guide less experienced team members.

 

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE)

  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements 
  • Identify, report, and address unsafe conditions, hazards, and incidents 
  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote a safe work environment 
  • Support environmental sustainability initiatives and minimize operational impact 
  • Participate in HSE training and promote a culture of safety and interdependence 

Electrical Maintenance & Equipment Support

  • Perform electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing equipment 
  • Execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards 
  • Support equipment uptime and downtime analysis to improve reliability 
  • Schedule maintenance activities in coordination with production requirements 

CNC / Mechatronics & System Support

  • Maintain and troubleshoot CNC machines, especially Horizontal Machining Centers (HMCs) 
  • Diagnose issues across electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, lubrication, and coolant systems 
  • Support Siemens CNC systems (Sinumerik One, Siemens 828) and use Siemens TIA Portal (V17/V18/V19) 
  • Perform PLC/CNC program backups, IPC ghost backups, and software management 
  • Support machine operations including homing, backlash correction, and MDI functions 

Factory Automation & Control Systems

  • Troubleshoot and maintain automation systems including VFDs, servo motors, and control panels 
  • Support systems such as vision systems, CMES, traceability systems, and centralized coolant systems 
  • Maintain and support equipment including: 
    • Nut runners, laser marking, gantry systems, honing machines 
    • Washing systems, leak testing equipment, gauging systems 
    • Material handling systems and overhead cranes 
  • Participate in Industry 4.0 and automation improvement initiatives 

Quality & Process Compliance

  • Perform work as per technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and specifications 
  • Follow process documentation and quality procedures 
  • Conduct inspections and identify issues to minimize quality and cost risks 
  • Provide feedback into preventive maintenance systems 

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

  • Record maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage accurately 
  • Coordinate with Continuous Improvement (CIP) teams for spare parts and process enhancements 
  • Develop SOPs and one-point lessons for maintenance practices 
  • Participate in Kaizen, cost-saving, and energy-saving initiatives 
  • Prepare and share maintenance reports and MIS data 

Teamwork & Development

  • Communicate effectively with production and cross-functional teams 
  • Train and support less experienced maintenance personnel 
  • Participate actively in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives 
  • Complete required training and contribute to personal development

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Technical diploma/degree or certification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or related field preferred
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, CNC, electrical safety) are advantageous
  • May require licensing for export control or regulatory compliance
