Employee performs highly skilled maintenance, installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with electrical systems. Electrical work may be performed in a number of areas including runways, taxiways, and security gates. Work involves technical application of electrical principles. This is a fully seasoned skilled level capable of independently carrying out most assignments typical of the discipline.
Maintains runway and taxiway lights; troubleshoots to identify the problem and repair as needed. Inspect and make repairs to taxiway lights and signs that are powered by 2400 volts and current transformers.
· Performs emergency repairs to runway lights and signs when required.
· Installs, repairs and services specialized electrical equipment and machinery.
· Constructs and maintains service equipment.
· Reads electrical circuit diagrams.
· Operates power hand tools and other specialized electrical equipment.
· Requisitions material and supplies from stockroom; calls vendors to discuss needs for parts and supplies and recommends purchases and suppliers.
· Transfers primary power from one power source to another.
· Sets poles, strings overhead lines and does overhead line maintenance.
· Supervises other regular employees during a minor portion of the employee' s work time; duties include assigning and reviewing work to other staff.
Minimum Quali? Cations Education and Experience
Seven years electrical experience and Class II Unrestricted Electrical Contractor License and or IBEW Journey’ s Card
Valid Driver’ s License
Preferred Education & ExperienceAssociate’ s degree with a course of study in Electrical Construction and Maintenance or similar area or 10 years of related experience in a commercial, industrial, or facilities maintenance.
