Job Description

This role focuses on installing and supporting fire alarm systems and Vesda air quality systems within a large, multi-building data center construction project. You will work with electrical wiring, conduit, and related components to ensure safe, accurate, and code-compliant installations across several buildings in various phases of construction.

Responsibilities

  • Pull fire alarm cable throughout the data center buildings in accordance with project plans and safety standards.
  • Terminate fire alarm devices and panels, ensuring clean, reliable, and code-compliant connections.
  • Install Vesda air quality systems, including running associated wiring and mounting equipment as specified in project drawings.
  • Pull electrical wire and route it through conduit and other pathways as required by the installation design.
  • Bend and install conduit to support fire alarm and electrical wiring, maintaining neat and organized runs.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to determine cable routes, device locations, and installation details.
  • Measure and mark installation locations accurately using a tape measure and other basic layout tools.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Collaborate with other trades and team members on-site to coordinate work and maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle tools, materials, and equipment responsibly.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience pulling electrical wire in a construction or industrial environment.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and electrical drawings to complete installations accurately.
  • Proficiency using a tape measure for precise layout and measurement.
  • Practical experience with electrical work, including working with fire alarm systems and related components.
  • Ability to bend and install conduit to support cable runs.
  • Comfort working in large, active construction sites with multiple buildings under development.
  • Strong commitment to safety and consistent use of personal protective equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience installing or terminating fire alarm systems.
  • Experience working with Vesda or other air quality detection systems.
  • Familiarity with data center or mission-critical facility environments.
  • Ability to work extended shifts and a 50-hour work week as needed.
  • Capability to work either first or second shift based on project requirements.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a large data center construction environment with multiple buildings under construction and additional phases planned. The site is active and fast-paced, with seven buildings currently in progress and more scheduled in future phases. Standard first shift runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with 10-hour days and approximately 50-hour work weeks. A second shift is also available Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to midnight. The dress code includes jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toed boots with at least a 6-inch ankle. Required PPE includes a Type 2 hardhat (provided if needed), cut level 2 safety gloves, and a high-visibility vest supplied on-site. You will work primarily with electrical tools, conduit, wiring, fire alarm devices, and Vesda air quality equipment in an indoor construction setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $35.00/hr.
