Job Title: Electrician

Job Description

Join a dynamic team in a heavy steel mold/forging production environment where your skills as an electrician will be put to the test. This position involves maintaining and repairing production equipment, control panels, and various electrical systems essential to our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical repairs on production equipment including overhead cranes, lathes, AC/DC motors and drives, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, control panels, and combustion systems.
  • Run and bend conduit, and repair hydraulic system sensors and controls.
  • Conduct extensive work on AC/DC drives, sensors, controls, and actuators.
  • Collaborate with team members and work independently when necessary.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical systems, particularly in heavy industrial hydraulic sensors and controls.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, specifically in an electrical capacity.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with 480 volts and AB PLCs.
  • Experience in a steel forging environment is advantageous.
  • Formal electrical education or certification is a plus.
  • A stable employment history, ideally with long-term tenures at previous companies.

Work Environment

The work takes place in a heavy industrial steel forging facility, which can be hot and dirty due to the melting of steel. Candidates should have prior experience in similar environments. The role involves indoor work with occasional outdoor exposure as employees move between buildings. The facility features open garages for product movement, exposing workers to weather elements. Employees must wear PPE at all times, including steel-toed boots, hard hats, and safety glasses. There are openings for 2nd shift (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm) and 3rd shift (10:00 pm - 6:30 am).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63190.00 - $71760.00/yr.

IBEW Union benefits, OT and 2X on Sunday's.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Chicago,IL.
