Electrical Test Engineer

🚨 Hiring: Commissioning Engineers & Relay Technicians🚨

We’re looking for experienced professionals with a strong background in substation protection & control (P&C) within utility or utility-support environments to support a major projects around the Springfield, MA area.

💼 Open Roles:

• Lead Commissioning Engineer
• Lead Relay Technician

💰 Compensation: Hourly W2 Contract with Per diem if over 50mi away from site

🔧 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Lead and execute commissioning activities for substation protection & control systems
• Perform relay testing, functional testing, and end-to-end system checks
• Verify wiring, SCADA/communications, and control schemes
• Support substation startup, energization, and troubleshooting efforts
• Ensure systems are compliant, tested, and fully operational
• Coordinate with field crews, engineers, and utility stakeholders

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Hands-on experience with relay testing & commissioning (SEL, GE, ABB, etc.)
• Strong background in high-voltage substations (typically 69kV+)
• Experience working for utilities or contractors supporting utilities
• Proven ability to lead commissioning efforts in the field
• Solid understanding of protection schemes (line, transformer, bus)

� Must have energized a high voltage substation including relay testing
