Job Title: Electrical Technician – Metal Fabrication Shop (1st Shift)

Job Description

This role focuses on installing electrical drives into cranes and supporting fabrication work in a heavy metal manufacturing environment. You will work on first shift, using hand tools, overhead cranes, and forklifts to handle and assemble components, while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Install electrical drives and related components into cranes according to specifications and blueprints.
  • Perform fabrication of machined parts to support crane assembly and other production needs.
  • Use overhead cranes, fork trucks, hand carts, and dollies to safely handle and manipulate product components and materials.
  • Coordinate with administrative staff to ensure job orders are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in compliance with company safety standards and procedures.
  • Remove visible oil, grease, soil, cutting compounds, and other soluble contaminants from steel and aluminum surfaces prior to further processing.
  • Remove loose mill scale, rust, and other detrimental foreign matter from steel surfaces to prepare materials for fabrication or finishing.
  • Use general production tools such as grinders and tape measures to perform accurate cutting, measuring, and finishing tasks.
  • Perform basic electrical wiring, mechanical assembly, and troubleshooting on equipment and components as needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate safety and protective equipment at all times while working around machinery and in the metal shop.
  • Collaborate with team members in adjacent work cells such as welding and painting to support smooth workflow and production continuity.

Work Environment

You will work in a metal shop manufacturing facility with a team of approximately 25 people. The operation is housed in a large warehouse building, organized into mostly individual work cells, with many cells dedicated to welding, painting, and related fabrication activities. This is a first-shift position, typically running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The work involves heavy manufacturing and frequent use of overhead cranes, fork trucks, hand carts, and dollies for material handling. You will work around active machinery and metalworking equipment and are expected to wear appropriate safety and protective gear in accordance with company safety standards

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
