About the Role
Insight Global is seeking a Critical Power Safety Manager to support a client operating within mission‑critical and complex electrical construction environments. This role serves as the authority on electrical safety, energization planning, and QA/QC, ensuring safe installation, inspection, and energization of medium‑ and high‑voltage power systems.
This is a highly visible leadership position focused on risk management, compliance, training, and operational excellence across multiple active projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, review, and approve site‑specific electrical safety and energization plans
- Perform pre‑energization inspections and authorize energization activities
- Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical safety, NFPA 70E, NEC, LOTO, and Arc Flash
- Conduct independent electrical QA/QC audits and safety inspections
- Review Arc Flash and Short Circuit Studies, NETA reports, AHAs, and MOPs
- Deliver NFPA 70E and Lockout/Tagout training to project teams
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical safety incidents
- Support multiple concurrent projects and collaborate with operations and safety leadership
- Mentor and train team members on critical power system construction
- Act as a client liaison for electrical safety and energization initiatives
- Represent the client at industry events and safety‑focused engagements
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Mechanical or Electrical System Construction
- 10+ years combined experience in at least one of the following:
- Mission Critical or Hospital Construction
- MEP Project Management
- Mechanical/Electrical Start‑Up and Commissioning
- 10+ years of experience with medium‑voltage construction, energization, and power distribution
- Electrical Journeyman License
- NFPA 70E Certification
- OSHA 30
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with Procore, BIM 360, CX‑Alloy TQ, Bluebeam, Adobe, JD Edwards
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or SureTrak
- Proven ability to train, mentor, and lead construction teams
- Strong communication, analytical, and risk‑management skills
