Our client, DAVIS Construction, is seeking an experienced Electrical Manager to lead electrical scope development and trade strategy across complex commercial construction projects throughout the DMV. This full‑time, headquarters‑based role is ideal for a senior preconstruction professional with deep electrical estimating expertise and the ability to partner closely with estimating, preconstruction, and operations leadership.

As an Electrical Manager, you’ll serve as the trade lead for electrical systems—driving estimating strategy, subcontractor engagement, constructability reviews, and value engineering from pursuit through project turnover. This is a highly collaborative, influential role supporting both competitive bid work and GMP development.


Location: On‑site, Rockville, MD (DAVIS Headquarters)

*Hybrid schedule available after approximately 6 months, with manager approval


What You’ll Do

  • Lead electrical trade management for projects in preconstruction and estimating phases
  • Drive budget, bid, and GMP assembly for electrical scopes
  • Perform and oversee electrical quantity takeoffs, scope writing, and qualifications
  • Collaborate with project teams to establish comprehensive scopes aligned with DAVIS construction standards
  • Participate in constructability reviews, systems analyses, and value engineering / alternates development
  • Develop strategies for competitive bids and GMP submissions
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with electrical subcontractors and suppliers
  • Strategically identify and align subcontractors based on market sector and project needs
  • Lead subcontractor walkthroughs, pre‑bid meetings, and coverage coordination
  • Research and maintain historical cost data for future estimates and pursuits
  • Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and interviews
  • Support schedule development, sequencing, and logistics planning related to electrical scope
  • Mentor and coach team members to support skill development and growth
  • Partner closely with Operations, Preconstruction, and Integrated Construction Group teams


What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience, with electrical trade focus
  • Strong knowledge of engineering and construction management practices, including safety and quality standards
  • Proven ability to lead electrical scopes for a variety of building types
  • Excellent scope writing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
  • Experience developing GMPs, competitive bids, and value engineering strategies
  • Strong presentation and client‑facing communication skills
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with clients, design teams, and subcontractors
  • Proficiency with On‑Screen Takeoff, SketchUp, or similar quantity takeoff tools
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam or Brava
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Salary range: $105,000–$135,000 annually, commensurate with experience
