Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Technician (weekends + potential to help on all shifts needed)

Job Description

The Electrical Maintenance Technician will support a distribution facility by performing primarily electrical and controls maintenance, with additional mechanical and facilities responsibilities. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing PLC-controlled automation equipment, maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled automation equipment, including tray washers and other automated machines.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with electrical systems, focusing on PLC troubleshooting, inputs/outputs, switches, sensors, and control panels using tools such as multimeters.
  • Install, repair, or replace electrical devices such as transformers, relays, circuit breakers, starters, and safety and limit switches.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to identify and resolve electrical and controls issues.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, and bearings.
  • Layout, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Install, program, and troubleshoot automated machinery and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Service and repair material handling equipment such as conveyors, mixers, weighers, metal detectors, and associated sensors and panels.
  • Monitor the main electrical panel and troubleshoot issues to ensure safe and reliable operation of the facility.
  • Repair and maintain boilers, water heaters, water conditioning equipment, and all water distribution systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on electrical, mechanical, and automated systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and issues to relevant stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Technical degree in an electrical, mechanical, or industrial discipline preferred.
  • Experience working with robotics and automated systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems and related equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently on complex maintenance tasks.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist across electrical, mechanical, and facilities maintenance areas.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a mix of climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled areas, such as freezer rooms, refrigeration rooms, and standard warehouse spaces. You will work around conveyors, mixers, weighers, metal detectors, sensors, panels, and other automated and material handling equipment. The position involves moving between different temperature zones and working both on the production floor and in facility support areas while following appropriate safety and attire requirements for each area

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Groveland, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
