Electrical Field Engineer

We are partnering on a confidential search for an experienced Electrical Field Service Technician / Engineer to support multiple industrial facilities. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in medium to high voltage electrical systems, troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and field-based technical support.


This position offers a mix of office and field work and requires someone who can work independently, make sound technical decisions, and support critical plant operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical distribution systems and equipment
  • Support substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, transformers, battery/UPS systems, and protective relays
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
  • Lead and coordinate maintenance projects, shutdown work, and equipment repairs
  • Conduct predictive testing including IR thermography, transformer oil analysis, partial discharge, and power quality studies
  • Support motors and related equipment in industrial environments
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and maintenance records
  • Travel to multiple facilities as needed


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience OR Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology
  • Strong experience with medium voltage systems (5kV–15kV required)
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial power systems
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in industrial settings, elevated areas, and varying weather conditions


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology
  • Journeyman Electrician background
  • High voltage experience up to 138kV
  • Experience with CMMS systems (Infor EAM or similar)
  • Understanding of controls/instrumentation systems and industrial codes/standards
