Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description

This role focuses on assisting with the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, and systems. You will apply mathematical and engineering principles to support the creation of electrical systems, working closely with senior engineers on plans, designs, computation methods, and technical reports. This position offers exposure to complex engineering tasks, with guidance and direction provided as you build your expertise and grow into greater responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of electrical equipment, components, and systems.
  • Apply mathematical and engineering principles to support the design of electrical systems and controls.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing plans, detailed designs, and engineering documentation.
  • Contribute to the development and review of schematics, wiring diagrams, and wire harness designs.
  • Use AutoCAD to create and modify 2D electrical drawings and layouts.
  • Assist with PLC programming and ladder logic development for control panels and automated systems.
  • Work with Controller Area Network (CAN) communications, including the J1939 specification, to support hardware and system integration.
  • Participate in the creation and modification of bills of material and engineering change orders.
  • Support the design and implementation of graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for control and monitoring systems.
  • Apply Boolean logic and digital logic concepts in the design and troubleshooting of electrical and control systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the manufacturing floor and in the engineering area to resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare and contribute to technical reports and documentation related to electrical designs and tests.
  • Engage in a structured training and mentorship program to learn best practices, tools, and company standards.
  • Participate in team discussions and collaborative problem-solving to improve designs and processes.
Essential Skills
  • 2–4 years of experience in electrical or electronics engineering or a closely related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or an Associate’s degree such as Electronic Engineering Technology.
  • Experience programming graphical user interfaces (GUIs) for control or monitoring applications.
  • Proficiency with 2D AutoCAD for creating and modifying electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Understanding of ladder logic and its application in PLC programming and control systems.
  • Solid grasp of Boolean logic and digital logic as applied to electrical and control system design.
  • Knowledge of Controller Area Network (CAN) communications, particularly the J1939 specification.
  • Experience working with schematics, wire harnesses, and control panels.
  • Ability to interpret and create bills of material and support engineering change orders.
  • Foundational knowledge of electrical hardware design and drafting.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create electrical schematics accurately.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to electrical and control systems.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively under occasional direction.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with PLC programming in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with graphical user interface (GUI) design principles and tools.
  • Experience with CAN-BUS systems and integration into electrical controls.
  • Background in drafting and documentation for engineering projects.
  • Comfort working closely with manufacturing teams to support production and troubleshooting.
  • Interest in continuous learning and professional development within electrical engineering.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to colleagues in engineering and operations.
  • Motivation to grow into more complex tasks and responsibilities as experience increases.
Work Environment

You will work primarily in a bright, well-lit engineering room with several rows of cubicles for engineers and offices around the perimeter. The engineering team sits upstairs just outside the door from the manufacturing plant, enabling close collaboration between design and production. The atmosphere is laid back, team-oriented, and family-focused, with frequent informal collaboration and open communication. The manufacturing floor is spacious, clean, and well lit, with a moderate noise level that is not overly loud. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
