Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer – Healthcare Projects
Job Description
This role offers an opportunity for a strategic and collaborative Principal Electrical Engineer to lead healthcare project delivery, cultivate strong client relationships, and guide a talented technical team in the Seattle region. The position focuses on leveraging deep experience in healthcare and hospital design to expand the firm’s regional presence while ensuring high-quality, client-centered engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex electrical engineering solutions for healthcare and hospital projects.
- Drive growth in the Seattle healthcare market by leveraging existing relationships and developing new client partnerships.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-term client relationships through a client-centered approach and consistent, reliable project support.
- Oversee and coordinate the technical work of local staff, providing direction, quality control, and technical guidance on projects.
- Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and professional growth.
- Use Revit and other design tools to produce, review, and refine electrical engineering designs and documentation.
- Manage projects from inception through completion, ensuring seamless execution, adherence to scope, and alignment with client expectations.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences, including clients, internal teams, and external partners.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate electrical engineering solutions into broader healthcare facility designs.
- Support business development efforts by contributing technical expertise, participating in client meetings, and representing the firm in the Seattle healthcare market.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in healthcare and hospital electrical design.
- Proficiency in electrical engineering design, including power distribution and related building systems.
- Hands-on experience using Revit for electrical design and documentation.
- Strong project management expertise with a client-centered approach, ensuring seamless project execution.
- Proven ability to cultivate and maintain client relationships, particularly within the healthcare sector.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership skills with the capacity to manage the technical work of local staff.
- Passion for mentorship and developing technical talent within the team.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with life sciences projects in addition to healthcare and hospital facilities.
- An established network in the Seattle healthcare market, or demonstrated ability to develop strong client relationships in this region.
- Background working in an employee-owned or ESOP environment is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with for-profit, growth-oriented professional services environments.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $165000.00 - $250000.00/yr.
