Join a team that is dedicated to creating safe, secure, and sustainable environments through cutting-edge flame and gas detection products. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing hardware aspects of products throughout their lifecycle. You will provide electrical design technical leadership for cross-functional new product development and sustaining engineering projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage hardware aspects of products from architecture, planning, design through verification and validation.
  • Develop and write engineering sub-system requirements and rationales aligning with customer, system, and regulatory standards.
  • Provide project schedules for electronic assembly tasks performed by EE resources.
  • Design mixed signal circuits that meet requirements verified through analysis, simulation, and/or breadboards.
  • Utilize ECAD tools for schematic capture.
  • Direct PCB/PCBA designers in parts placement, routing, and board layout.
  • Participate in product roadmap and resource planning.
  • Implement new or updated mixed signal electronic designs meeting all customer, system, and regulatory requirements.
  • Build and test designs from bench-level to formal verification and validation using in-house test setups or at third-party facilities.
  • Follow development processes, lead technical reviews, and document and control work deliverables.
  • Assess the impact of changes to electrical components related to obsolescence issues.
  • Author and lead through implementation engineering change requests, and manufacturing and engineering change orders.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
  • 2-5+ years of professional work experience.
  • 2+ years developing mixed signal PCB/PCBA designs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in analog circuit design.
  • Experience developing electronics to meet high levels of EMC performance.
  • Participation in product development from inception through manufacturing.
  • Product development experience in regulated market segments such as medical, automotive, aviation, or industrial life safety.
  • Experience across all phases of the program development lifecycle.
  • Preferred experience using Altium for schematic capture and PCB/PCBA design.
  • Experience with FMEA.
Work Environment

This role is based in an engineering environment focusing on high technology solutions for the Gas & Oil industry. The position involves working with advanced tools and technologies, and requires attention to detail and a collaborative mindset.

This is a Contract position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $50.00/hr.
