Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking both an intermediate (2+ years) and mid (5+ years) level Electrical Engineers. The role involves designing and testing electronic systems for embedded underwater applications, custom data acquisition systems, and automated test hardware supporting land-based naval systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and document electronic systems and circuits using Altium, PADS, or ORCAD.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new designs and clearly document test results.
  • Utilize modern engineering tools and resources to work efficiently and effectively.
  • Manage multiple concurrent technical challenges while demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new concepts.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team with engineers, logisticians, technicians, and draftsmen to ensure designs meet customer requirements.
  • Generate and maintain specifications, requirements, schematics, bills of materials, and mechanical drawings.
  • Create and review well-documented design change notes to support configuration and version control.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical Circuit Design/analysis
  • Test equipment design
  • Hands-on lab testing (oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers, etc.)
  • PCB Design
  • Experience with FPGA, marine, ROV, UUV, sonar, array, labview, filter, amplifier, and ATE (Automated Test Equipment)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in engineering design, analysis, and testing.
  • Electronic design in the area of test equipment, power electronics, amplifiers, filtering, signal conditioning, and/or high-speed digital.
  • Schematic entry in a schematic capture software.
  • Experience contributing to engineering documentation for a technical data package.
  • Ability to read and understand basic electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting using test equipment to help isolate problems and generate solutions.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance.

Work Environment

This is primarily an onsite role with hybrid flexibility, depending on business needs. The environment is collaborative, with flexible schedules such as 9/80, 4/10, or 5/8. The position requires a hands-on approach due to customer interaction, with occasional work on base at NUWC.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, RI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $165000.00/hr.
