About Moleaer:

Moleaer Company is a venture-backed technology company that is privately owned and is based in Hawthorne, California. It is the category creator and global leader in nanobubble technology, which is revolutionizing how industries use water. The only fundamental scientific innovation in water in the past 30 years, nanobubbles drive sustainability, enabling industries to produce more while using significantly less water, energy, and chemicals. Recognized as one of America's Top GreenTech Companies for 2024 by TIME magazine, Moleaer is an incredibly dynamic and fast-growing company with a tremendous opportunity for career growth.

Water is our most precious resource. Not only do we need it to live, but we also use it in virtually every industrial process from food production to mining to mixing concrete. Moleaer’s mission is to unlock the power of water to do more with less. Our patented nanobubble technology improves sustainable food production and processing, water and wastewater treatment, natural resource recovery, and we can even restore aquatic ecosystems sustainably – and we do all of this with nanobubbles, not chemicals.

Nanobubbles are 2,500 times smaller than a grain of salt and have properties that allow them to supersaturate water with oxygen, form natural oxidants for disinfection, and increase water’s ability to permeate soil, rock, and even clothes in a washing machine. Our technology has been validated by extensive research, and we currently have over 2,500 installations in more than 50 countries.

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer I to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will design and document the electrical systems for Moleaer’s water treatment containers, skids, and mobile trailers. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, controls engineers, and project engineers to deliver safe, reliable, and globally compliant electrical designs. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain broad experience across industrial electrical design in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

Essential Functions:

Electrical System Design

·       Design electrical systems for water treatment containers, skids, and mobile trailers, including power distribution, control, and instrumentation circuits, compliant with multiple international grid standards, including 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems and varying supply voltages (e.g., 120V, 200V, 240V, 400V, 480V, 600V).

·       Develop single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, and panel layout drawings using CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).

·       Produce complete electrical drawing packages for manufacturing, including bill of materials (BOM), connection schedules, and termination diagrams based on selection of electrical components including circuit breakers, fuses, disconnect switches, contactors, relays, terminal blocks, and enclosures.

·       Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and standards, including NEC (NFPA 70), IEC 60364, UL 508A, CE marking requirements, and customer-specific standards.

·       Size conduit, cable trays, and raceways to support installation requirements on skids and trailers.

·       Coordinate with the controls engineering team to ensure proper integration of PLC panels, instrumentation, and field devices into the electrical design.

Cross-functional Collaboration & Support

·       Work with mechanical engineers and manufacturing to coordinate electrical routing, enclosure placement, and equipment mounting in containers, skids and trailers.

·       Provide hands-on support to manufacturing as needed to meet deadlines, including building and assembling designed electrical systems.

·       Support procurement by preparing technical specifications and evaluating supplier submittals

·       Participate in design reviews, providing technical input on electrical system architecture and component selection.

·       Assist the field service and commissioning teams with technical support during system startup and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

·       Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

·       0–3 years of experience in industrial electrical design; internship or co-op experience in a relevant field is acceptable.

·       Experience or coursework in power distribution, circuit protection, and electrical component selection.

·       Proficiency with electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD.

·       Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment data sheets.

·       Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in engineering calculations and documentation.

·       Good written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively across engineering teams

Desirable Skills:

·       Working knowledge of UL508A, NEC (NFPA 70) and/or IEC electrical standards.

·       Experience designing systems for international markets, including familiarity with CE marking and IEC compliance.

·       Experience working with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and other electromechanical components.

·       Experience with any coding language, debugging and troubleshooting, and developing software for PLCs and HMIs.

·       Experience simple PCB design and development, including schematic design, layout, component selection, ordering, and troubleshooting.

·       Knowledge of National Electrical Code requirements for hazardous or classified locations (NEC Article 500/505).

·       Familiarity with fluid systems, pumps, compressors, and related ancillary components.

·       Experience working in a product development or custom-engineered equipment environment.

·       Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable taking ownership and accountability.
