Job description:
Seattle-based Oscilla Power, Inc. (OPI) has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join a small but growing team working on the commercialization of marine energy for grid and defense applications. OPI is developing technology to harness energy from ocean waves at different scales and is executing projects aimed at demonstrating and validating its technology.
We are looking for a team member who is interested in helping to develop novel electrical/electronics solutions for energy systems. This position will involve the continued development and improvement of the electrical systems for OPI’s wave energy systems and will ultimately involve taking ownership of specific multidisciplinary projects. This position will involve both the development of innovative concepts and translating those ideas into detailed schematics and test-bench prototypes. The successful candidate will be expected to effectively work with engineers from other disciplines to help solve interesting problems, develop specifications, and manage work and deliverables.
Oscilla Power’s systems involve the conversion of physical motion to useful electric power for applications ranging from small-scale battery recharging to grid-scale and the successful applicant will have demonstrated experience with similar electrical applications. They will be expected to work within a small team and manage project activities towards specific design objectives. A positive attitude to proactively identify challenges and develop innovative solutions that can make a substantive impact on the cost and performance is a must.
