Job Title: Electrical Designer
Job Description

As an Electrical Designer, you will develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for power distribution systems, including switchgear lineups, lighting layouts, grounding, and lightning protection systems. You will be responsible for determining conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, assessing cable tray fills, and performing detailed calculations to ensure system safety and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for power distribution systems.
  • Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing, meticulously accounting for current loads and environmental variables.
  • Assess cable tray fills to ensure proper cable management, organization, and future scalability.
  • Perform detailed short circuit and voltage drop calculations to ensure system safety and compliance.
  • Ensure all electrical designs adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Apply established electrical design techniques and adapt design concepts as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Designers, Sr. Engineers, Project Managers, and stakeholders on assigned objectives.
  • Foster collaboration, communication, and support within multidisciplinary teams to optimize efficiency and quality.
Essential Skills
  • GED
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Minimum of 2 years of electrical design experience
  • 1+ years of experience working on industrial projects such as data centers, semiconductor, healthcare, or oil & gas
  • Ability to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting, and grounding plans
  • Proficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams and creating construction documents
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • A.A. or degree in engineering or architecture
  • Proficiency in Revit, ETAP, and/or EasyPower
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design
  • Experience with semiconductor or tool install projects
Work Environment

The role requires working on-site 5 days a week with a flexible start time between 6 AM and 7 AM. The position involves working 40 to 50 hours per week and is eligible for overtime. You will be reporting to the Section Manager as part of a team of approximately 50 employees on-site. The work environment is dynamic and offers opportunities for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $48.00/hr.
