Substation Electrical Designer


We are seeking a Substation Electrical Designer for our client on a direct hire basis. will help to design critical high-voltage substations nationwide. This is a hybrid opportunity based out of Boston, MA.


Job Requirements:

  • Develop electrical design documents including single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, plans, and details.
  • Produce symbols, legends, equipment specifications, and technical notes.
  • Support schematic design, design development, and construction‑level documents.
  • Coordinate drawing packages with civil, structural, mechanical, and other disciplines.
  • Assist engineers with power studies and quality assurance across deliverables.
  • Ensure designs meet NEC, IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and other applicable codes and standards.


Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of electrical design experience within substations, distribution, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Strong understanding of power distribution, control systems, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and/or MicroStation (2D and 3D).
  • Experience physically laying down a substation and changing bays.
  • Knowledge of ANSI/IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ISA, and NESC codes.
  • Experience with PLC/HMI or SCADA systems, preferred.
  • EIT or PE license, preferred.
