Electrical Design / Controls Designer (W2 Contract)

$60–$70/hour (W2)

We are seeking an Electrical Design / Controls Designer to support project execution for industrial facilities. This role is heavily electrical-focused (approximately 80%), with supporting exposure to instrumentation and controls (approximately 20%). Candidates with instrument tubing experience will be highly prioritized.
This is an onsite position in Bedminster, NJ, working closely with engineering and project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electrical design drawings using AutoCAD
- Create and revise:
- Cable tray layouts
- Cable and conduit schedules
- Low-voltage wiring diagrams for instrumentation and controls
- Support instrumentation and controls design, including field routing and connectivity
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability
- Review and incorporate redlines, field markups, and as-built documentation
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
Required Qualifications
- Strong background in electrical design for industrial facilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Hands-on experience with:
- Cable tray design
- Cable and conduit schedules
- Low-voltage wiring for instrumentation
- Solid understanding of electrical construction practices and documentation
- Ability to work onsite full-time (5 days/week) in Bedminster, NJ
Highly Desired / Nice to Have
- Instrument tubing design experience (major plus / strong differentiator)
- Experience in chemical, LNG, or similar process industries
- Exposure to controls systems and instrumentation layouts
