Electrical Controls Designer/Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Designer/Engineer to support the design and development of industrial control systems and equipment. This role is responsible for creating detailed electrical designs, supporting field implementation, and ensuring systems operate efficiently and reliably across a variety of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical control systems, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and associated documentation
  • Ensure projects are completed on schedule and aligned with overall project requirements
  • Maintain accurate project updates within internal tracking systems
  • Develop and follow standard procedures for electrical design and panel construction
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution from concept through completion
  • Select and specify components, ensuring availability aligns with project timelines
  • Support procurement efforts by developing and managing bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as needed
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design processes and system performance
  • Maintain organized documentation, part numbering, and internal standards
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

  • Experience designing electrical control systems in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with electrical design and documentation software
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control components
  • Understanding of motor control systems, including variable speed drives and related equipment
  • Experience with project coordination tools and file-sharing platforms
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including providing remote support when needed
  • Prior field experience or hands-on troubleshooting is a plus
  • Experience with industry standards and compliance requirements is a plus
