Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Electrical Assembly Technician assembles electro‑mechanical systems, automated equipment, and robotic work cells with accuracy and safety. This role focuses on building and wiring industrial control panels, assembling pneumatic systems, and supporting the full project lifecycle—from build and debug through installation at customer sites.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cutouts on electrical enclosures using power and hand tools according to electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Install interior and exterior components on industrial control panels following detailed drawings.
  • Wire industrial control panels per electrical schematics, ensuring safe and reliable connections.
  • Route and label wires and cables to maintain an organized, professional layout.
  • Assemble and plumb pneumatic systems as part of electro‑mechanical builds.
  • Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component datasheets to complete accurate assemblies.
  • Assist with electrical troubleshooting and debugging of control panels and automation equipment.
  • Support installation and commissioning activities at client facilities and other locations as needed.
  • Assist with shop tasks such as shipping, receiving, quality checks, and general facility upkeep.
  • Follow all safety procedures and quality standards; report issues promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support production, project delivery, and shop operations.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to perform electrical assembly for industrial control panels and electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Skilled in wiring per schematics, routing cables, labeling wires, and creating clean, compliant layouts.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and datasheets.
  • Hands‑on experience with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components.
  • Proficiency with power and hand tools such as drills, saws, knockout tools, crimpers, and torque tools.
  • Working knowledge of industrial automation components and systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe, high‑quality work.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, technicians, and shop‑floor teams.
  • Capability to support troubleshooting and debug activities on control panels and automation equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC hardware (e.g., Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Understanding of robotic work cells and their integration with control systems.
  • Familiarity with UL508A industrial control panel standards.
  • Mechanical fabrication skills such as drilling, tapping, and cutting enclosures or mounting structures.
  • Experience working with industrial automation equipment in production or project‑based environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret pneumatic schematics.
  • Basic computer literacy, including documentation and MS Office tools.
  • Experience with forklifts or material‑handling equipment.
  • Exposure to shipping, receiving, or general shop support activities.

Work Environment

This position is based in a shop‑floor environment equipped for electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic assembly. The role includes a mix of independent tasks and team collaboration in a fast‑paced setting with shifting priorities driven by project needs. Occasional travel to client sites is required. The workplace emphasizes safety, quality, precision, and adherence to established procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Benicia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr.
