Electrical & Instrument Engineer

NOTE: ideal candidate will have approx. 2 to 3 year's experience as Electrical/Instrumentation Engineer experienced working in petrochemical facilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
This position will support the E/I Maintenance group with assessment, implementation, and project management of facility E/I needs.
Conduct and support failure analyses on affected electrical, instrument, analyzer, and controls equipment.
Generate new and/or update equipment specifications for electrical, instrument, analyzer and controls equipment based on results of failure analysis.
Develop and/or modify settings, logic diagrams, loop sheets, specification sheets, power schematics, one-lines diagrams, etc. for electrical, instrument, analyzer, and controls equipment.
Gather and interpret event reports from electricals relays, instrument diagnostics, DCS, SIS systems, or other software to ascertain the initiating event of related equipment failures.
Review and approve electrical, instrument, analyzer and controls equipment design, technology, and installation specifications for projects generated by the Capital Improvement (Engineering) Department to ensure best practices are implemented.
Involvement in Reliability/PSM/Mechanical Integrity leadership focusing primarily on instrument and electrical equipment criticality, reliability centered maintenance implementation, and predictive maintenance program management.
Develop and implement site predictive and preventative maintenance procedures for electrical, instrument, analyzer, and controls equipment.
Review results of predictive and preventative maintenance, commissioning, QA/QC, and acceptance testing of electrical, instrument, analyzer, and controls equipment
Maintain SRS specifications, SIL ratings, and other PSM critical process safety information associated with plant instrumentation or electrical infrastructure.
Represent the site on the Electrical and/or SIS Site Stakeholder Teams
Provide technical assistance to the I&E Maintenance Technicians on certain specialized electrical, instrument, analyzer and controls equipment applications and equipment when necessary. (e.g. diagnosing variable frequency drive issues)
Sponsor, draft, route, and drive to completion Management of Change (MOC’s)
Develop I&E Engineering Packages to support to Maintenance Projects, Bad Actors, and Continuous Improvement efforts for non-capital related projects.
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in an E & I related role preferably in Chemical manufacturing.
Familiarity with the 14 Elements of Process Safety Management.
Exposure to a variety of electrical, instrument, analyzer, and control equipment (this role will interface with all 4).
Demonstrated capability to lead and support I&E projects.
Experience with chemical plant design, process equipment, and utilities.
Mastery of basic electrical theory and a general knowledge of instrumentation and analytical technology as it applies to specifying and applying equipment.
Knowledge of a variety of test equipment and methods employed for testing and troubleshooting electrical, instrumentation, analyzer, and controls equipment.
Ability to deal effectively with people and resolve conflicts and problems.
Able to organize and prioritize multiple projects and adjust quickly as needed.
Ability to accept direction and work effectively & cooperatively with other people.
Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
Education Requirements
Electrical Engineering Degree.
