EHS Specialist [AS-14940]

A growing food manufacturing organization in the Milwaukee area is looking to add an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to its Safety team. This role will focus on strengthening workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory alignment across a production facility. This person will be tasked with partnering closely with plant leadership to reduce risk, improve safety culture, and ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards. It’s a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on in a manufacturing environment and influencing safety practices at the site level.

The Role

• Evaluate and monitor workplace, health, and environmental hazards (noise, air quality, wastewater, chemical exposure) and implement programs to mitigate risk
• Partner with plant leadership to identify, investigate, and prevent accidents, providing clear corrective and preventive action reporting
• Develop and deliver safety, environmental, and compliance training while maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Manage chemical safety processes, including SDS accessibility and chemical change procedures
• Support emergency response planning, PPE programs, behavioral-based safety initiatives, and ongoing OSHA compliance efforts

The Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field
• EH&S experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state environmental regulations
• Experience or exposure to programs such as SPCC, SWPPP, wastewater, or EPCRA is preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels
