Reporting to the Senior Director, Operations, the EHS Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for leading environmental, health, and safety programs; proactively identifying and mitigating risk; and fostering a strong safety culture across the plant. As a key member of the plant leadership team, the EHS Manager partners closely with operations, employees, and leadership to protect people, the environment, and business performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead implementation and ongoing promotion of the Plant Safety Process, ensuring disciplined execution of all safety policies
  • Provide technical EH&S expertise to the facility, proactively identifying and mitigating safety and environmental risks
  • Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, permits, and reporting requirements, partnering with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders as needed
  • Support limited environmental compliance activities as part of the broader EHS role; environmental responsibilities represent a small portion of overall job scope.
  • Train and educate employees on safety procedures, PPE, LOTO, ergonomics, and environmental practices
  • Lead or support accident and incident investigations, corrective actions, and case management
  • Manage hazardous and residual waste programs and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and permits
  • Facilitate hazard identification activities, risk assessments, and process safety mitigation plans
  • Ensure development, accuracy, and maintenance of all process safety documentation
  • Coordinate and deliver required compliance and including non-safety training
  • Partner with operations and leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, productivity, and cost
  • Support safe execution of capital projects aligned with scope, cost, schedule, and performance goals
  • Promote positive employee relations and a collaborative, supportive plant culture

Qualifications

  • Asociates Degree Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in EH&S roles within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Working knowledge of OSHA and OSHA regulations and general EH&S compliance requirements
  • Experience leading or supporting hazard identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, and corrective action programs
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Professional certifications such as ASP, GPS, CSP, CIH, or CHMM
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Demonstrated experience tracking and acting on leading and lagging EH&S indicators
  • Proven project management skills for moderately complex initiatives
  • Experience managing EH&S audits, regulatory reporting, and permit compliance
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
