Saint Monica Preparatory is a coeducational, Catholic TK-12th grade school in the heart of
Santa Monica, CA. The parish school is a ministry of the vibrant St. Monica Catholic Community

Position Summary
The TK-12 Educational Technology (EdTech) Specialist serves as the bridge between technology and instruction. This role partners with faculty across all grade levels and divisions to integrate technology purposefully into curriculum, assessment, and student engagement. The Specialist leads professional development, manages the school’s approach to AI and digital citizenship, and ensures that EdTech investments translate into measurable improvements in teaching and learning.
The Educational Technology Specialist is a full-time, 11-month (academic year + summer planning) exempt position. The position will be filled as soon as the school identifies the best candidate.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Instructional Coaching & Classroom Integration:
- Collaborate with teachers to design and co-teach lessons that leverage technology for deeper learning
- Provide in-classroom coaching: model instruction, co-plan units, and support implementation
- Assist faculty with formative assessment platforms to deliver timely, targeted student feedback
- Support differentiated instruction through technology use
Professional Development:
- Design and facilitate ongoing PD on instructional technology, AI in education, and blended
learning
- Lead summer institute sessions and in-service workshops aligned to ISTE Standards
- Create and maintain a resource library of model lessons, tutorials, and platform guides
- Coordinate peer-sharing sessions where faculty demonstrate successful integration practices
AI Literacy & Digital Citizenship:
- Develop school-wide guidelines for appropriate AI use by students and faculty
- Establish grade-appropriate academic integrity standards for AI tools
- Teach digital citizenship and media literacy across grade levels
- Coordinate family education sessions on digital wellness and healthy technology habits
Platform Management & App Governance:
- Serve as the instructional lead for the school’s SIS and LMS platforms
- Manage the EdTech app review and approval process: evaluate tools for instructional value, data privacy, and redundancy
- Conduct annual audits of approved applications; streamline and consolidate where possible
Data & Assessment:
- Support administrators in using analytics dashboards for data-driven instructional decisions
- Coordinate instructional technology components of standardized testing (setup, student
readiness, day-of support)
- Assist faculty with digital assessment development in the classroom
Collaboration:
- Partner with the IT team on device deployment, classroom technology, and infrastructure planning as it affects instruction
- Serve as the instructional voice in technology purchasing decisions
- Present quarterly EdTech program updates to school leadership
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrated experience integrating technology into instruction
- Strong knowledge of learning management systems (Schoology, Canvas, Google Classroom, or similar)
- Familiarity with ISTE Standards for Educators and Students
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work across grade levels and subject areas
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field
- ISTE Certification (Educator or Coach level)
- Experience with AI tools in education (ChatGPT, Claude, SchoolAI, Brisk, MagicSchool)
- Experience with data analytics platforms and dashboard tools
- Background in project-based learning, UDL, or competency-based education
- Google Certified Educator, Apple Teacher, or equivalent certification
Salary Range
$70,000 - $85,000 annually. Salary is determined based on skills and qualifications.
