Job Details

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive the vehicle into position for loading and unloading Assist with the loading and unloading to make sure goods are stowed correctly Check all consignment documentation and ensure it is kept with the package[s] at all times making sure the address match on both the documentation and the package and that the amount of pieces is correct. Plan the collection/delivery route and ask the assistance from Ground Operations if required Drive the vehicle to the destination in a manner that is not a danger to him/her selves and any other road user. The use of communication equipment, where it is safe to do so, to keep in contact with Ground Operations. Arrange the loading/unloading and obtain a receipt for goods delivered. Complete a daily and weekly Time Sheets to be handed into their Supervisor on a weekly basis along with their POD’S and vehicle check sheets. Report vehicle maintenance needs and any incident/accident which him/her or the vehicle has been involved in. Hand to hand deliveries To wear the correct work uniform whilst carrying out these duties and to ensure that this uniform is worn correctly and kept to a high standard. Comply with all regulations on EU 561/2006 regarding drivers hours.

Able to follow procedures & instructions Able to provide relevant information on request Good communication skills – verbally & written Possession of a valid license for the class of vehicle to be driven Possession of a valid Passport to travel on the continent Ability to work as part of a team and independently Self motivated Remains Calm under pressure Flexible attitude – for working time High attention to detail Uses own initiative Friendly & polite Dependable, reliable and trustworthy
