Job Responsibilities:
Utilize computer-aided design tools such as CAD, CAM, or CATIA to create, modify, and detail engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations based on established layouts and standard data in a field of specialization such as structures, devices, mechanics, electrical, or electronics.
Complete details of major layout drawings prepared by others in accordance with standard engineering drafting practices.
Determines scaling; inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations, and sectioning; prepares specifications for parts, assemblies, and installations; prepares complete production detail drawings; contributes design modifications to improve quality of product or facilitate manufacturing operations.
Interpret design sketches, engineering notes, and specifications to produce technical drawings
Develop and maintain accurate drafting documentation, including assembly drawings and schematics.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure proper design.
Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles
Basic Qualifications
Level 2: High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience
Level 3: High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience
US Citizenship with willingness and ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance
2 years’ experience detailing engineering drawings for parts, assemblies, and installations
CAD/AutoCAD certificate or other similar tools
Understand principles of MIL-SPEC standards
Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
Familiarity in creating detailed 2D and 3D models
Experience with component selection, qualification, and application in electronic or mechanical systems (***pls verify this is reasonable for a drafter to have this experience
Preferred Qualification
Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility
Strong mechanical knowledge is beneficial.
Proficient in CAD software including NX, CAD CREO, or SOLID WORKS
Experience with Siemen’s Teamcenter or similar PLM systems
Experience with technical writing for documentation purposes
Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
5 years’ experience detailing mechanical/electrical parts and assemblies.
Familiar with ASME Standards
