To thrive in this position, you must be willing to activelyparticipatein all program activities (indoor and outdoor), assist with the adaptation of activities, and help facilitate social interaction between participants. Effectively communicating with supervisors, staff, participants, and parents/guardians is extremely important. Allselected candidates must display excellentcustomerserviceskills, must maintain confidentiality regarding disability, medical, and personal information, attain First Aid, CPR and AED certifications (training classes available) and attend various required trainings. Ongoing, continued training and internal growth opportunities are available.
These positions are part-time/intermittent and do not include a benefits package.

Ideal candidates will have experience working in recreation programs, in childcare or education programs, or supporting children or adults with disabilities. Starting positions and pay rates will be based on relevant education and experience. Please provide examples of experience in your application. Pleasenote: Hours and locations may vary and are contingent upon sufficient program registration and funding. If programs are canceled, staff will not be scheduled to work.

Therapeutic Recreation Aide $16.75 - $17.25
Actively participates in all program activities, assists with the adaptation of activities, and helps to facilitate social interactions. Aides communicate effectively, enforce program rules and comply with policies/procedures. Minimum age 16, entry level position, must have a desire and interest in working with individuals with disabilities, minimal related experience required.
Therapeutic Recreation Assistant Leader $17.75 - $19.75
Responsibilities include actively assisting with planning and leading activities, facilitating participation, and helping with daily living skills. Duties include assisting with the implementation of behavior plans as needed. Assistant Leader’s communicate effectively, enforce program rules and comply with policies/procedures. Minimum age 18, plus HS Diploma, plus one year of experience working with people with disabilities or years of related disability experience.
Therapeutic Recreation Senior Leader $20.75 - $21.75
Responsibilities include planning and leading activities, facilitating participation, and assisting with daily living skills. Duties also include maintaining documentation and implementation of behavior plans as needed. Senior Leaders communicate effectively, enforce program rules and comply with policies/procedures. Minimum age 18. Requires one year of college plus one year of experience working with people with disabilities or two or more years of related disability experience.
Therapeutic Recreation Leader/Driver $20.75 - $21.75
Leader/Drivers transport participants with disabilities to and from program activities on M-NCPPC vehicles. Additional duties include securing passengers safely, ensuring the vehicle is clean and well-maintained, adhering to, and following emergency procedures, and being safe/courteous
Driver: Must have a valid Class C or D Driver's License with no more than one (1) point on the driver's license. Must have a minimum of two years or more of experience driving, minimum age 21, and attain Defense Driving certification.
Therapeutic Recreation Assistant Director $22.75 - $23.85
Assistant Directors are responsible for acting as the Director in the Director's absence. Assists with the overall supervision of the onsite operation of therapeutic recreation programs for children and teens with disabilities. Maintains open communication with the Director and assists with planning, organizing, facilitating, and evaluating specialized activities designed to meet the needs of the participants. At least 12 months of previous experience in children's program as an administrator or a supervisor. Minimum Age: 21.
Therapeutic Recreation Director $25.75 - $27
Directors are responsible for overall supervision of the onsite operation of a therapeutic recreation summer camp for children and teens with disabilities. Director plans, facilitates, participates in program activities to meet the needs of the participants. Trains, supervises, and evaluates staff and volunteers. Attend meetings, enforce program rules, work closely with parents, and MNCPPC career staff. Qualifications: At least 24 months of previous experience in a camping or children's program as an administrator or a supervisor. Minimum Age: 21.
Class Instructors $17.25 - $75.00
Provides instruction for a specific skill area such as Tai Chi, yoga, aerobics, Zumba, exercise/fitness/sports, strength training, personal training, dancing, kayaking, and other specialty skills. Minimum prior experience with adapting programs for individual needs. Preferred experience working with individuals with disabilities and current CPR/First Aid Certification. Minimum Age: 18
Sign Language Support $19.25 - $46*
Provide effective sign language interpretation for Deaf or hard of hearing participants. Provide necessary assistance and adaptations, actively participates in all programs and helps to facilitate social interaction. Minimum requirement, HS diploma plus 1 year of signing. *Salary depends on experience and certification of signing fluency.
