Amplifire Strategies is a boutique strategic communications and public affairs firm with a strong foothold in the energy sector. We work at the intersection of policy, communications, and community engagement – helping energy developers, coalitions, and industry leaders navigate complex regulatory environments, build public support, and move high-stakes projects forward. We are seeking an experienced communications/public affairs professional to oversee multiple energy clients and initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-moving, issue-driven environments; is comfortable navigating several workstreams at once; and brings a strategic mindset to managing campaigns, clients, and internal teams. You’ll play a central role in keeping projects on track, clients informed, and campaigns moving from strategy to execution.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the day-to-day manager energy-sector clients, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery across workstreams.
- Manage strategic communications and public-affairs campaigns, including message development, earned media, digital strategy, and paid media.
- Translate high-level strategy into detailed project plans, timelines, and tasks – keeping campaigns on track and aligned with client goals.
- Coordinate internal teams and external partners (designers, vendors).
- Produce – with team support – content and materials, including talking points, fact sheets, op-eds, websites, email campaigns, advertising copy, and social media content.
- Track project progress, anticipate challenges, and proactively identify solutions.
- Prepare client updates, status reports, and reporting that clearly communicate progress, risks, and next steps.
- Track client deliverables and maintain timelines.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will bring many of the following qualifications. However, candidates do not need to meet every requirement listed below to be considered. We value a range of experiences and encourage qualified applicants with relevant backgrounds in politics, public affairs, communications, and/or the energy sector to apply.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven ability to create and execute successful public affairs campaigns using earned media, paid media, digital strategy.
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients or workstreams simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and strategic focus.
- Experience overseeing paid media and digital advertising campaigns across multiple platforms and channels.
- The ideal candidate will have some political experience (government, campaigns, non-profits, advocacy, etc.), and/or energy sector experience.
- Strong understanding of how communications, policy, and stakeholder engagement intersect – particularly in regulated or politically sensitive environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort working directly with clients, senior leaders, and external partners in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Salary commensurate with experience.
Location
Amplifire Strategies’ main office is located in Columbus, Ohio, and preference will be given to candidates based in the Columbus area. We will also consider strong candidates seeking a remote role, depending on experience and fit.
