Position Summary

Istios Health is hiring a highly motivated and experienced operator to drive growth across our Phoenix-based practice and expand our presence across the region. This role operates in a dyad model, partnering closely with the Practice Medical Director and Istios Health’s Chief Operating Officer. This individual will oversee day-to-day provider operations, drive business strategy, and own financial performance, including budget management, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. As a key leader, they will bring a growth-oriented and creative mindset to optimize team performance and build scalable systems. The Arizona practice serves as an innovation hub for Istios Health’s national specialty care model, with this role playing a central part in designing programs that will scale across the broader network.


Primary Job Responsibilities: 

  • Supervises, trains, orients, and evaluates performance over assigned personnel. 
  • Manages the daily practice operations while developing, monitoring, and analyzing financial information effectively.
  • Maintains knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures including government, insurance, and third-party payor regulations.
  • Participates in the selection, training, and supervision of clinic staff.
  • Coordinates with medical staff to ensure quality patient care and services are provided. Serves as a liaison between medical staff and healthcare facilities (SNF, LTAC, Community Hospital).
  • Helps leadership team to develop and execute clinic strategic plans like Infusion and other ancillary services
  • Manages daily operations at satellite offices and coordinates the work activities and schedules.
  • Develop goals for satellite operations and ensure that these goals align with organizational goals.
  • Owns and manages the full practice budget, including annual budget development, financial monitoring, expense management, and variance analysis; accountable for meeting and exceeding financial targets and reporting performance to Istios Health leadership.
  • Supports physician and APP staff recruitment, contracting, onboarding and training.
  • Leads provider compensation benchmarking and budgeting, including benchmarking against MGMA/Sullivan Cotter data and working with Istios Health leadership to ensure compensation structures are fair, competitive, and compliant.
  • Oversees revenue cycle management (RCM) operations, including monitoring claims performance, denial management, payer mix, and accounts receivable in coordination with the billing team; identifies opportunities to optimize reimbursement across ID clinic, infusion, and telehealth service lines.
  • Supports and participates in payor contracting discussions, including evaluation of contract terms, fee schedules, and value-based arrangements; works with Istios Health leadership to optimize the practice’s payor portfolio.
  • Leads or supports vendor evaluation and negotiations across key categories including medical supplies, laboratory services, technology platforms, and staffing; manages vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manages or supports real estate and facilities decisions including clinic site assessments, lease negotiations, and space planning as the practice footprint grows across Arizona.
  • Develops and executes practice growth strategies including referral network development, new service line launches (infusion and clinical trials), partnership development with SNF, LTACH, FQHCs and hospital partners, and marketing of practice capabilities across Arizona.
  • Manage medical staff facilities coverage schedule in conjunction with assigned personnel.
  • Implements, enforces, and maintains established depart­mental policies, procedures, and objectives.
  • Reviews performance in area of supervision in relation to established goals, assists in implementing changes to affect continual improvement in services provided, and assures compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

 

Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: 4 years+ of medical practice management experience.


Knowledge:

  1. Knowledge of principles and practices of health care planning and management sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate the operation of a health care organization.
  2. Knowledge of practice management computer systems, EMRs and applications.
  3. Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a practice sufficient to direct its operations and to provide effective patient care.
  4. Knowledge of government and reimbursement regulations and requirements.
  5. Knowledgeable of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and other third-party payor's guidelines.
  6. General knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
  7. Considerable knowledge of rules, regulations, procedures, and work performed in the assigned area.
