ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY. The Director of Operations is a visible operating leader with real authority and accountability for people, systems, vendors, budgets, and outcomes. This role partners closely with the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Team to ensure disciplined execution, clear ownership, and sound judgment across business‑critical and externally visible operational areas. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead and oversee front office operations, including direct supervision of the Front Office Manager and Marketing & Events Manager
  • Own brand management and public relations efforts, ensuring consistent and credible external representation
  • Direct and oversee staff promotion of brand, values, and positioning
  • Oversee the company’s property insurance program, including allocation across projects
  • Manage property tax payments and coordinate property tax appeal processes
  • Track and manage Company’s assets for sale and respond to broker inquiries
  • Collaborate with the CTO on platform implementations, budgeting, and operational alignment
  • Serve as business owner for the company website, ensuring timely updates and quality standards through the marketing team
  • Lead the overhaul and implementation of Company’s performance review system and tools
  • Manage and provide oversight of the expense reporting process
  • Create and implement overhead cost control policies, including travel and discretionary spending
  • Partner with the COO on cross‑functional initiatives and complex operational challenges
  • Own the marketing function as a disciplined business operation focused on clarity, consistency, and credibility
  • Ensure external messaging accurately reflects Company’s values, culture, and long‑term positioning
  • Develop marketing budgets and oversee all internal and external marketing expenditures, including trade shows, PR events, company meetings, and general marketing initiatives
  • Oversee brand standards, marketing materials, and all external communications
  • Set priorities, timelines, and quality standards for marketing initiatives
  • Exercise sound judgment on reputationally sensitive and externally visible work, including social media
  • Serve as the primary owner and decision‑maker for the firm’s website and related digital platforms. This role does not include day‑to‑day content creation or copywriting.


WHAT YOU NEED. To be successful in this role, the Director of Operations will have:

  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in company operations; real estate experience a plus
  • Demonstrated success leading people and operational functions
  • Proven ability to set budgets, establish protocols, and make judgment‑based decisions
  • Comfort setting boundaries and making difficult or unpopular decisions
  • High integrity, maturity, and emotional steadiness
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate operational and technical concepts into business terms
  • Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and flat organizational structure
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
