The Director of Operations is the strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all foodservice and hospitality functions within the hospital. This includes patient dining, retail operations, catering, and alignment with Culinour’s brand standards. The Director ensures operational excellence, financial performance, and a culture of service that enhances the patient and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all on-site foodservice and hospitality operations, including patient dining, retail outlets, and catering. Oversee Clinical Nutrition Manager and clinical teams.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to improve service delivery, operational efficiency, and financial outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership and clinical teams.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards including food safety, sanitation, and healthcare-specific guidelines.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting; manage labor and food costs.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing management and hourly team.
- Champion Culinour’s culture of hospitality, innovation, and care.
- Implement quality assurance programs and conduct regular audits.
- Drive continuous improvement through data analysis, customer feedback, and team engagement.
- Support new business development and onboarding of additional services or locations as needed.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in foodservice or hospitality operations, preferably in healthcare or senior living.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Proven success managing large teams and complex operations.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with P&L accountability.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with regulatory compliance in healthcare settings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS systems, and workforce management platforms; UKG experience a plus.
- ServSafe Manager certification required or ability to obtain within 30 days.
