Position Overview

The Director of Operations is a leadership role responsible for operational ownership—from inbound receiving and warehousing to delivery and the post-sale customer experience—across assigned channels.

As a foundational pillar of COSFF’s operations, the Director leads a team of over six members across the warehouse and logistics functions. This role ensures flawless execution from receiving to delivery, manages issue resolution and vendor partnerships, and serves as a key enabler of organizational performance.

This position is responsible for direct communication with customers on operational matters and the internal commercial team. Key duties include managing transportation systems, warehousing, optimizing delivery performance, and supporting strategic operational initiatives. This high-impact role manages a national team with international touchpoints and is responsible for the North American customer experience and product movement.

Serving as the operational “quarterback” across Sales, Demand Planning, QA, Warehouse, and Logistics, this role ensures single-point accountability for service performance, OTIF, fill rate, deductions, and exceptions. The Director is also responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and customer satisfaction outcomes.

While this role does not own procurement, supplier buying strategy, or sales administration, the Director must partner closely with these teams to ensure seamless supply execution. Salary for this role is targeted between $135,000-$155,000 DOE.


Core Responsibilities


1. Supply-Chain Operations & Cross-Functional Leadership


  • Establish single-point accountability for order-to-cash execution across all channels: Retail, Club, Wholesale, Food Service, and Value-Added.
  • Act as the primary operational liaison between the buying and selling functions, supporting both Commercial and Operational leadership.
  • Ensure pre-sale activities and operational feasibility are fully aligned prior to making commercial commitments, working cross-functionally with commercial team
  • Attend key customer reviews and business updates as relevant.


2. Warehouse & Logistics Leadership


  • Provide direct oversight of the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
  • Own operational performance metrics, including but not limited to:
  • OTIF by customer and channel
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Fill rate
  • Cross-dock performance
  • Freight claims, deductions, and chargebacks
  • Inbound Receiving (Ocean Freight, Import and Customs Clearance)
  • Warehousing operations
  • Lead 3PL performance reviews, contract negotiations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate and supervise order flow from entry through delivery to identify and eliminate friction points.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams on freight strategy, cost analysis, and service optimization.


3. Operational Performance & KPI Management


  • Develop and maintain executive-level scorecards tracking performance trends of key KPIs
  • Lead structured problem-solving and corrective action initiatives to address operational gaps.
  • Analyze and report on the financial impact of operational decisions.
  • Present operational performance updates, identified gaps, and resolution proposals to Executive Leadership on a consistent basis.


4. Team Leadership & Organizational Development


  • Lead, mentor, and develop key roles, including Customer Success Managers and the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
  • Build Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and standardize workflows across all verticals.
  • Establish a high-performance culture focused on accountability, speed, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular performance management and succession planning for the operations team.


Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in:
  • Supply chain execution
  • Warehouse & logistics operations experience and leadership (required)
  • Customer service / order-to-cash
  • CPG or Food distribution preferred
  • Strong end-to-end international and domestic supply chain management understanding
  • Demonstrated experience managing 3PL relationships.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced Excel & PowerPoint proficiency; experience with ERP systems (ideally SAP) required.
  • Strong financial acumen and cost-benefit analysis capability.
  • Executive-level communication and presentation skills.
