Job Title: Director of Operations

Job Description

This position is onsite in Boise, Idaho, and involves up to 25% travel to various sites for meetings. The role leads operations across multiple customer sites, overseeing large-scale installation projects and managing a diverse team including site managers, technicians, safety personnel, and contractors. The Director is responsible for strategic planning, team development, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance across all sites.
  • Oversee project execution, including installations valued over $100M.
  • Manage labor and contractor budgets exceeding $10M.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and resolve escalations.
  • Ensure quality standards and smooth handoffs to service teams.
  • Hire, train, and mentor site leaders and technical staff.
  • Build high-performing teams and develop future leaders.
  • Collaborate with internal departments (safety, quality, sales, etc.).
  • Improve contractor performance through metrics and feedback.
  • Support long-term planning and budgeting efforts.
  • Align goals with global operations leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process efficiency.
  • Develop and track KPIs for operational effectiveness.
  • Handle hiring, performance reviews, and team development.
  • Address employee concerns and ensure a productive work environment.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to build and lead large, diverse teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience managing complex, high-value projects with strong planning and budgeting skills.
  • Demonstrated operations management career path.
  • Skilled in maintaining and improving client satisfaction through proactive communication and problem-solving.
  • Experience in semiconductor, semiconductor equipment, and construction environments is strongly preferred, but other industries may be considered.
  • 5+ years in operations or project management, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with automated systems, PLCs, and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Must be able to travel up to 25%, including internationally.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Leadership, directness, and the ability to stay on point are highly valued traits.
  • MBA, PMP and/or former military profiles may stand out.

Work Environment

The role involves frequent work in cleanroom settings and occasional exposure to mechanical equipment. Expect moderate noise levels typical of industrial environments. Physical requirements include regular use of hands and arms, frequent communication, occasional standing, walking, sitting, climbing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close, distance, and color vision.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Boise, ID.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
