Overview
The Miller Healthcare Director of Nursing is responsible for all day-to-day clinical operations of the facility. Provides leadership and coordination of all disciplines to provide quality services to the residents of the facility. Acts as administrator in their absence.
Essential Duties
  • Supervises and oversees the nursing services of the facility.
  • Assumes full responsibility for the operation and management of the facility in the absence of the Administrator.
  • Assures multidisciplinary approach to resident care management activities.
  • Oversees MDS, RUGS, Care Planning activities, Quality Program, Infection Control, Admissions, and direct care staff.
  • Assist to establish and monitor operational and capital budgets to ensure they are within approved parameters.
  • Knowledge of all State and Federal regulatory requirements.
  • Manages and provides leadership in financial matters regarding budgeting and cost control and revenue generation regarding nursing services.
  • Participates and contributes to assigned committees, teams, task forces, including community service if applicable.
  • Policy and procedure development for clinical care, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines for all levels of care.
  • Provides leadership and direction for ensuring quality patient care.
  • Provides leadership and direction for improving patient/customer satisfaction.
  • Recruitment, training and ongoing performance evaluations competency of all staff under direction.
  • Provides leadership in coordinating surveys with IDPH, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Respond to any nursing related issues in a timely manner
  • Hire and coordinate training for nursing positions.
  • Develop short and long-term goals for nursing departments, implement actions for goal achievement
  • Establish new policies and update existing polices to improve standard of care for patients.
  • Assigns and directs activities of nursing services personnel.
Responsibilities
Preferred Experience
  • Five years of progressive management experience in long-term care preferred.
  • BSN Degree
Required Licensure/Education
  • Current Illinois RN licensure.
