About the Role:
Taco Cat Games (“Taco Cat”) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Marketing to expand our internal capabilities and drive our marketing efforts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies to achieve business goals. As the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for leading and growing our Amazon business, eCommerce and CRM, content strategy, commercialization of new product launches, paid media & agency management, analytics & reporting and budget management.
Essential Duties:
Amazon Management
- Oversee all advertising and promotions on Amazon to optimize ROI/ROAS and manage overall Amazon marketing budget
- Execute launches of all new titles with excellence
- Oversee Amazon Seller Central and Vendor Central accounts; manage brand registry and brand store
- Track key performance metrics; provide regular reports and actionable insights
Commercialization/Launch Excellence
- Work closely with Innovation Lead to transition each new game from development to launch mode
- Lead all content development for new product launches, including how-to and sizzle videos, lifestyle photos, ecommerce assets
- Lead influencer strategy for each new title/campaign launched
- Develop media plans for all launches, laddering up to our brand campaigns
- Develop custom launch plans for each key retailer and D2C
Paid Media Management
- Optimize paid media campaigns across platforms to drive efficiencies and maximize ROI
- Manage retailer media
- Manage day-to-day agency relationships
- Analyze and report out on campaign performance monthly
eCommerce Strategy and Execution
- Grow conversion rates and build basket size on Tacocatgames.com through unique offerings, promotions, strategic bundles, etc
- Drive additional traffic to Tacocatgames.com through email marketing, organic social and paid media
- Own eCommerce experience across retail channels, including Target, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, Amazon, etc.
Brand Positioning/Content Strategy
- Develop communications strategy to inform content calendar, eMarketing and web content development
- Ensure all marketing materials and communications ladder up to our brand positioning and further our strategic initiatives/business objectives
- Develop an email and website content strategy that drives brand love with our loyalists
- Engage/collaborate with PR agency to ensure consistency in communications and identify content gaps or opportunities
People Leadership
- Lead and develop social media/ecommerce team through coaching, succession planning and performance accountability
Analytics and Reporting
- Utilize Circana data & internal POS data to report regularly on health of the business and position in the marketplace
- Utilize data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of marketing efforts
- Provide monthly reporting and insights to the executive team
Ad Hoc
- Assist with focus group facilitation including prototype preparation and explaining gameplay to focus group participants
- Assist with trade show/event planning and execution, including development of creative assets and providing booth support as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive brand management and marketing leadership experience in CPG/consumer products
- Ability to commute to Dayton office 1-2 days/week
- Data-driven with experience building KPI frameworks and marketing analytics
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrated success building strong brands
- Proven ability to deliver profitable growth in multi-channel retail environments
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing resource/budget trade-offs
- Deep expertise in consumer insights, digital marketing, omnichannel activation, and commercialization excellence
- Minimum 2-3 years of direct Amazon experience
- Entrepreneurial mindset—comfortable with ambiguity, speed, and hands-on execution, proactive, takes initiative
