Director, Finance (Project Finance)

Position Overview

Or client an infrastructure developer is seeking a Director of Finance to lead project finance, capital structuring, and transaction execution across a rapidly scaling data center platform.

This role is designed for a former Investment Banking professional who has deep experience in modeling, structuring, and executing complex transactions and is looking to transition into an operating environment. The Director will play a central role in raising and deploying capital, structuring project-level financing, and partnering with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.

This is a high-impact, deal-oriented role in a capital-intensive business where financing strategy is core to value creation.


Key Responsibilities

Project Finance & Capital Structuring

  • Lead structuring and execution of project-level financing (debt and equity)
  • Develop optimal capital structures across assets and entities
  • Support negotiations with lenders, investors, and counterparties
  • Evaluate financing alternatives and recommend strategies to leadership

Financial Modeling

  • Build and maintain complex, integrated financial models
  • Model project-level cash flows, returns, and capital requirements
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing
  • Support investment decision-making with robust analytical frameworks

Transaction Execution

  • Lead execution of financing transactions, including due diligence, documentation, and closing
  • Coordinate with lenders, investors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders
  • Prepare investment materials, credit presentations, and lender decks
  • Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships as needed

Strategic Finance & Business Partnering

  • Partner with development and operations teams on new projects
  • Evaluate project economics, pricing structures, and contract terms
  • Support long-term capital planning and portfolio strategy
  • Provide financial insight to executive leadership

Capital Markets & Investor Interface

  • Maintain relationships with banks, lenders, and capital providers
  • Support ongoing investor and lender reporting
  • Monitor market conditions and financing opportunities


Qualifications

  • 6–10+ years of experience in Investment Banking, Project Finance, Infrastructure Finance, or similar
  • Direct experience in capital raising, structured finance, or project finance required
  • Strong financial modeling skills (must be advanced/expert level)
  • Experience in infrastructure, power, energy, or data centers strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience executing complex transactions end-to-end
  • Strong understanding of debt structures, credit agreements, and financial covenants
  • Ability to operate both at a strategic level and in detailed execution
