We are seeking an experienced Director of Estimating to lead preconstruction efforts for a growing commercial general contractor based in Delray Beach. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all estimating functions, driving accurate project pricing, and supporting strategic growth across diverse commercial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the estimating team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
• Oversee all phases of the bidding process, from conceptual budgets to hard bids
• Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and clients
• Review drawings, specifications, and proposals to ensure comprehensive scope coverage
• Collaborate with project management and executive teams on project strategy and risk analysis
• Implement best practices, tools, and systems to improve estimating performance
• Mentor and develop estimating staff
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of commercial construction estimating experience
• Proven leadership experience within a general contracting environment
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost controls
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Procore, PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar)
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
