Position Summary
The Associate Director of Engineering provides strategic and operational leadership to the engineering department, ensuring alignment between technical initiatives and overall business objectives, including growth and cost optimization. This role serves as a critical link between executive leadership and manufacturing operations, driving the successful execution of engineering programs and overseeing New Product Introduction (NPI) processes to meet customer and organizational expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and continuous improvement of engineering programs to support organizational goals, with a strong focus on cost control and efficiency.
- Optimize the allocation of manpower and technical resources to maximize productivity and operational performance.
- Oversee the Engineering team to ensure the successful development, validation, and transition of New Product Introductions (NPI) into full-scale production.
- Ensure the accuracy, quality, and timely delivery of engineering documentation, programming, and technical support to manufacturing teams.
- Develop and standardize engineering processes while leveraging data-driven systems to enhance decision-making, reporting, and project tracking.
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with customers, acting as a strategic partner to support business growth and identify new opportunities.
- Conduct regular technical reviews and deliver performance reports to executive leadership and key customer stakeholders.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to resolve technical challenges, eliminate bottlenecks, and ensure engineering outputs meet both internal standards and customer specifications.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial) or a related technical field is required.
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive engineering experience, including at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or management capacity within a manufacturing environment.
- Direct experience in semiconductor precision manufacturing, with a strong understanding of NPI (New Product Introduction) workflows.
- Deep understanding of the semiconductor industry, including market information, product cycle times, and emerging technologies.
- Proven track record of managing new and existing project execution, setting goals, and following through on complex project plans.
- Mastery in overseeing the capacity and quality of technical quotations (RFQs) and ensuring the precision of programming submissions to manufacturing.
- Demonstrated success in managing engineering teams to ensure the successful transition of products from development to mass production.
- Ability to lead and organize cross-functional teams to ensure technical resolutions meet company goals and customer demands
