About the Opportunity
A rapidly growing global manufacturing organization is seeking a Director of Corporate Accounting to join its corporate finance leadership team during a major period of transformation, growth, and modernization.
This is not a maintenance-mode accounting role. This is a high-impact opportunity for a CPA with Big 4 experience, strong controllership expertise, and deep SAP S/4HANA experience to help lead a major ERP transformation while strengthening the accounting function for future scale.
The company is going through significant growth and operational change, including a major acquisition, new leadership across the business, and preparation for an important next stage of corporate maturity. This role will be highly visible and will play a key part in building scalable accounting processes, improving controls, supporting system transformation, and helping shape a public-company-ready finance infrastructure.
Position Overview
Reporting to the VP, Controller, the Director of Corporate Accounting will lead corporate accounting operations while serving as a key finance leader in the company’s SAP S/4HANA implementation. This person will act as a bridge between accounting, finance leadership, internal stakeholders, and external implementation partners.
The ideal candidate has a strong public accounting foundation, an active CPA, hands-on SAP S/4HANA experience, and the ability to operate in a complex, multi-ERP environment. This role requires someone who can manage core controllership responsibilities while also driving process improvement, implementation readiness, internal controls, and post-implementation best practices.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to step into a highly visible Director-level role with meaningful influence, executive exposure, and potential long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead corporate accounting operations, including month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, variance analysis, and financial reporting accuracy.
- Serve as a key accounting leader in a greenfield SAP S/4HANA implementation.
- Partner with finance leadership, IT, accounting teams, implementation consultants, and external service providers to support SAP design, testing, integration, and rollout.
- Provide accounting leadership around SAP finance modules, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
- Help standardize global accounting processes and workflows as the company migrates from multiple legacy ERPs into one SAP S/4HANA environment.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data across a complex, multi-system accounting environment.
- Support public-company readiness initiatives, including SOX compliance, internal control documentation, process design, and audit support.
- Design, document, and enforce scalable accounting policies, procedures, and controls aligned with US GAAP and elevated reporting standards.
- Partner with external auditors and internal stakeholders to prepare audit documentation and resolve accounting or control-related questions.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation, reporting, controls, and accounting efficiency through SAP, BlackLine, Power BI, and other finance technology tools.
- Translate SAP and accounting data into meaningful insights, dashboards, KPIs, and reporting for leadership.
- Support post-implementation best practices, process optimization, workflow design, and future-state accounting transformation.
- Help build out the accounting organization over time, including defining roles, responsibilities, processes, and team structure.
- Lead special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed by finance leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Active CPA license required.
- Big 4 public accounting experience required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in complex corporate accounting or controllership environments.

- Strong understanding of US GAAP, SOX compliance, internal controls, financial reporting, and audit readiness.
- Experience working in a multi-ERP, multi-entity, or complex systems environment.
- Proven ability to lead accounting process improvement, standardization, and transformation initiatives.
- Advanced Excel skills, including lookups, pivot tables, financial models, and data analysis.
- Strong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to partner cross-functionally with finance, accounting, IT, operations, external consultants, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA finance modules, including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
- Experience supporting public-company readiness, SOX buildout, or elevated reporting/control environments.
