Our Global Medical business is currently looking for an Director to lead the manufacturing production of a high speed, highly automated facility in Greenwood, South Carolina. Cardinal Health’s Greenwood, South Carolina site manufactures different product SKUs, including essential care products such as protective underwear, adult briefs, and under pads. Annually, the Greenwood facility produces over 1 billion pads. In addition to manufacturing, the Greenwood site also serves as a distribution center, shipping approximately 200,000 cases of finished goods weekly to hospitals, nursing homes, and individuals across the country and globally. This involves about 40 trucks leaving the shipping dock daily. This leader will oversee two production managers and a receiving manager.
Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership & Financial Management: Lead daily facility operations, monitor financial objectives, drive cost savings, and ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Team Development & Accountability: Provide clear expectations, training, and support to the department, fostering a culture of high accountability for on-time, on-budget, and high-quality work. Develop, coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for direct reports.
- Strategic Collaboration & Efficiency: Partner with Engineering and other plant leaders to optimize manufacturing efficiency, reduce costs, align manufacturing strategy with overall plant goals, and stay current with industry’s best practices.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Federal safety requirements, cGMP, ISO 13485, OSHA, and plant/corporate standards. Actively participate in EH&S activities, including root cause analysis and inspections.
- Continuous Improvement & Growth: Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, TPM, 6S, OEE) throughout the factory. Oversee department expansion and capacity, and act as Site Director when needed.

Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience, preferred: preferably in a GMP medical manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience as a Plant Manager or an Assistant Plant Manager.
- Demonstrated success in managing people and leading multiple teams and/or departments
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to communicate with all functions and levels within the company, as well as customers, suppliers, and the community
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, receiving raw goods, safety systems, automation, machine control, others.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs and align to service needs within a Sales and Operations planning process.
- Strong MS Office skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends.
- Demonstrated success in achieving results along with strong financial acumen and project management.
- Live within 30 miles of our Greenwood, SC facility.
Anticipated salary range: $135,700 - $200,000 USD Annual
